AI Congress of university Bielefeld

As part of the AI congress “AI@HSBI Congress 2025” at Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, an exhibition on the topic of artificial intelligence will take place on June 3, 2025. After the keynote speech, congress visitors will have the opportunity to view AI projects from the East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL) region. The exhibitors are involved in the “AI in SMEs” working group and will present their exhibits on site in the special area on the main concourse.

dmc-smartsystems specializes in developing innovative solutions in the fields of embedded software engineering, web applications, and the Internet of Things. At the AI Expo, it will present a demonstrator that shows AI-supported image processing in real time.

Visitors will learn how modern AI systems can simultaneously capture, interpret, and process visual information. The focus is on practical applications such as automatic face recognition with pixelation, hand pose recognition to support safe industrial workplaces, and semantic recognition of objects in images and video streams. To make it easier for both trade visitors and laypeople to understand, dmc-smartsystems relies on explainable AI: Class activation maps (CAMs), heat maps, and other visualization techniques make the “effects” of AI visible – and thus understandable. The booth invites visitors to experience AI not just as a black box, but as a transparent tool for secure, efficient, and comprehensible image analysis.
